Extrudr is an Austrian filament manufacturer based in Lauterach, known for precision manufacturing and one of the widest material ranges in the European market. They produce 11 different materials spanning from beginner-friendly PLA to advanced engineering polymers like PA, PC, and PP. Their production facility in Austria maintains tight diameter tolerances, which is a key selling point for users who need consistent extrusion.
Beyond their own branded filament, Extrudr is the contract manufacturer behind 3DJake's house-brand filament (ecoPLA, nicePETG, etc.). This OEM relationship means 3DJake filament comes off the same Austrian production lines, though the formulations and pricing may differ. Extrudr filament is available in Europe through 3DJake's retail network, covering the UK, Germany, and France.
Austrian manufacturer known for precision and consistency. They also manufacture 3DJake's house-brand filament. Positioned as premium EU filament with tight tolerances. Limited community discussion compared to bigger brands, but users who try them report excellent print quality. Higher price point than budget brands.
Material Range
Extrudr's PLA is their entry-level material, manufactured with the same precision as their engineering lines. Available in a solid color range with consistent diameter tolerance. As a premium European manufacturer, their PLA is priced above budget Chinese brands but aims to deliver reliability that justifies the cost.
The NX2 PLA line is their standard offering, while the GreenTEC variants use bio-based formulations. Both are produced in Austria and available through 3DJake across European markets.
Extrudr's PETG is a solid functional material for parts that need more heat resistance and durability than PLA. Their manufacturing precision translates well to PETG, where consistent diameter is especially important to avoid stringing and oozing issues that plague budget PETG formulations.
Available in standard and transparent variants. PETG is often where premium manufacturers differentiate themselves most, since budget PETG can be notoriously inconsistent.
Extrudr's ABS is formulated for reduced warping compared to generic ABS. ABS remains essential for parts that need heat resistance, mechanical strength, and the ability to be post-processed with acetone vapor smoothing. Extrudr's Austrian production and quality control aim to reduce the common ABS frustrations around warping and layer adhesion.
ASA is the UV-stable alternative to ABS, designed for outdoor applications where sun exposure would degrade standard ABS. Extrudr's ASA maintains the same printing requirements as ABS (enclosed printer, ventilation) but adds UV resistance that makes it suitable for garden fixtures, outdoor enclosures, and automotive parts.
Extrudr's TPU is flexible filament for gaskets, phone cases, vibration dampeners, and impact-absorbing parts. TPU is notoriously difficult to print with inconsistent filament, so Extrudr's tight diameter tolerances are a genuine advantage here. Available in multiple shore hardnesses to suit different flexibility requirements.
This is where Extrudr's breadth really shows. They offer six additional engineering and specialty materials that most consumer filament brands don't touch:
PC (polycarbonate) for maximum heat resistance and impact strength. PA (nylon) for tough, wear-resistant functional parts. PCTG as an improved PETG alternative with better impact resistance and clarity. PP (polypropylene) for chemical-resistant, living-hinge parts. HIPS as a soluble support material for ABS prints. PVA as a water-soluble support material for PLA prints.
