ASA swaps the UV-unstable butadiene in ABS for acrylate rubber[1]. It has the same heat resistance and the same toughness, but it won't yellow or crack after years in direct sunlight. It's what you use for anything that lives outside: garden fixtures, car trim, camera mounts, signage.
Still warps like ABS, still stinks. Enclosure and ventilation required. But if your part needs heat resistance or outdoor durability, ASA beats ABS in every way except acetone smoothing doesn't work as cleanly.

The ASA Grade Ladder
ASA’s grade system mirrors ABS (it is ABS’s UV-stable successor, after all): HS- for speed-tuned, + for improved base formulations, fiber fills for stiffness, plus two grades ASA gets that ABS rarely does: lightweight foaming and flame-retardant. Numeric designators (a vendor’s “275” and similar) usually encode print temperature or a house grade number; check the datasheet. The ladder, with live listings:

The outdoor default: UV-stable where ABS chalks and yellows, similar ~95-100°C heat tolerance, slightly less warp. Still wants an enclosure. If the part lives outside, this tier already beats any PLA or PETG at any price.ASA+
Improved base formulations: calmer warping, better layer adhesion, small premium. The same buy-this-unless-a-spec-sheet-says-otherwise logic as ABS+.HS-ASA
Speed-tuned ASA for enclosed fast printers. Young grade with few listings; expect it to grow the way HS-PETG did as more enclosed CoreXY machines ship.ASA-CF / ASA-GF
Fiber-filled ASA: the stiffest practical choice for outdoor structural parts (antenna mounts, drone arms, brackets on dark cars in summer). Hardened nozzle required; glass-filled versions cost less per spool than carbon.LW-ASA
